I say I'm undecided what is best. That is because I have the ability to learn and then figure out what is best all around. When there is a legitimate attempt to decide whats best, numbers/facts provided then I can decide and will decide, if I think that renovation/consolidation, building 1 school, 2 schools, 3 schools or whatever else is best.

You said yourself that if consolidation took place then you would home school your children. What kind of attitude is that to have? Unless you feel that your children would benefit better in some way. They are your children so your right to do what you feel is best for them. But your belief that your children is better off at home educated is quite rediculous for the reason your home town school was taken down. Now I call that being stubborn!!
You do what you think is best, but don't be surprised if your kids come home one day and tell you that they want to goto the new school. What will you say then?
Besides your children will only know about the new consolidated school. They will not even know about our old school in Pound.
From day 1 I have asked folks to be open-minded about this, to have a thorough study, serious feasibility done. Hey, if we can come up with a way to save our schools that will fit us all, more power to us. I hear folks from Pound bitching about not wanting to go to school with kids from Wise, well folks believe you me it goes both ways. I would love to see my boys stay in red and white. If it does happen though, these kids are going to have to adjust. That is life. When we grow up we have to change, adjust-be it jobs, life, relationships..etc

IMO it's the right attitude to have. Our children from pound would be in a school where they are looked down on by most people there from wise. They would be made to think that they are trash or some other ridiculous crap just because they dont have their heads up their [censored]. If my kids ever ask to go to the new school and they are still minors then my answer is no. Actually whether or not they are minors, my answer is no. And MY children will know about pound high school even if it no longer exists. They may not feel the same school spirit, but they will know a lot about the school and the people that went there.

Attitudes from people like you are what will be the problem if consolidation occurs. Kids from JJK and Pound will just have to learn a little about each other, and may be surprised at what they find. (Must have been an apparition I saw when Chris Strouth from Pound and Sproles from JJK met on the field after the game this year and hugged each other and exchanged good words) I have no doubt these 2 fine youngsters could attend school together. My soulmate is from Pound. When we got together, some folks from Wise were like "He's with a girl from Pound-you gotta be kidding". I had to chuckle when I told them (got that good ol prison hearing and they were unaware they were overheard) that folks from Pound were saying the same [censored] to her-works both ways, but it does work when you open your eyes.

Even though it is stereotypical, sadly it is true. A lot of the kids from wise will be like well im from wise and my parents are so and so so i can do whatever i want and all these pound kids are inferior. No not all the kids will do that, I know kelly has some good kids because my brother goes there, but the majority are like that.

You will find trash in every school--even Pound. You are a liar if you say that Pound is the only school that is holy.
How do you interact with people from different towns around here? Do you treat them with respect or are you against anyone who isn't from Pound? See that is how you teach your children, to respect everyone no matter their background or what town they came from or live in. I don't understand the point in this at all. Pound, Wise what does it matter?
You may be right some kids may not be so accepting at first but the right teaching from home and teachers about the new school will help make the students interact with one another better. How dare you or anyone tell their child that they will not be accepted in a joined school. You don't know that. You, me and our children will face sometime in life situations where we feel inferior but we should have enough intellect and knowledge to face things with a positive attitude. We will sometimes not come out as good as we want but atleast we can grow as a community if we all work together and build something great for our kids future. Instead of enemies why in the world can't we all just get alone???????
Not everyone from wise is rich snobs, and not everyone from Pound is inbred rednecks either. I have met good and bad people from both towns. Hope to God their children don't act like them or THINK like them.
